Financial services

The international financial services sector has grown steadily over the last decade and now accounts for some 40 % of national income, employing 20% of the workforce. The self-governing nature of the Isle of Man has allowed it to flourish as an international financial centre and this diverse sector now includes some 60 of the world´s top banks and numerous fund management companies.

These activities are supported by a professional services sector that includes international accountancy practices and a wealth of experienced legal firms. In recent years, the Isle of Man Government has made significant progress gaining international recognition as a world-class centre for offshore finance, and the development of the sector has been encouraged by the creation of a positive legislative framework and beneficial tax regime that lends dynamic momentum to the development of this sector.
